Birth data

Your date, time, and place of birth are used solely to calculate and personalise your astrological profile. We treat this information with the highest degree of care. It is stored encrypted at rest and in transit, and is never sold or disclosed to third parties except as necessary to deliver the Services.

Voluntary spiritual and wellness information

Some features of the Services allow you to record personal reflections, intentions, or experiences. This information is considered sensitive and is encrypted and visible only to you unless you explicitly choose to share it.

How we use AI

The Astral Society uses large language models and machine learning systems to generate personalised horoscopes, transit analyses, and other astrological content. Your birth data and query parameters are sent to these systems to produce your readings. Inputs are processed in real time and are not used to train AI models unless you have separately given explicit consent for research participation.

Third-party AI providers

We partner with third-party AI service providers to power certain features. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements that require them to implement appropriate security measures and prohibit them from using your data for their own purposes.

Types of cookies we use

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Services; functional cookies to remember your preferences; analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our pages; and, where you have consented, marketing cookies to deliver relevant advertising. You may withdraw consent or adjust your preferences at any time via our cookie settings.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. We currently do not respond to DNT signals, but you may use the privacy controls described in this policy to limit data collection.

We do not sell your data

The Astral Society does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Service providers

We share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the Services — including cloud infrastructure, payment processing, customer support, and analytics. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.

If The Astral Society is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Rights under GDPR (EEA & UK residents)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to our processing; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We will respond to any verifiable request within 30 days.

Rights under CCPA (California residents)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion of their personal information; to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or to resolve disputes.

We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security assessments, and strict access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
